Instagram Threads Challenges Linktree with New Multi-Link Bio Feature and Creator Insights
Instagram Threads now lets creators add up to five links to their bio, directly competing with tools like Linktree, Beacons, and Koji. The update helps creators drive traffic to blogs, stores, and other social profiles. With over 350 million users, Threads also offers link click insights and will soon launch weekly recaps showing post views, new followers, replies, and tips to boost engagement. Meta aims to make Threads a hub for creators to grow their online presence.

Instagram Threads Launches Multi-Link Bio Feature, Taking on Linktree and Creator Tools Market

Instagram Threads, the Meta-owned social app with over 350 million monthly active users, is launching a powerful new feature that allows creators to add up to five links to their profile bios. This move positions Threads as a direct competitor to popular “link-in-bio” platforms like Linktree, Beacons, Linkin.bio, Koji, and others.

At launch, creators can use this feature to direct fans to external content such as blogs, newsletters, personal websites, storefronts, or other social profiles. It offers a clean, integrated alternative within Threads, removing the need for third-party services to manage multiple links.

In addition to the expanded link options, Threads is also introducing performance insights. Creators can now track how many people click the links in their profile and even links included in posts. This aligns with Meta’s strategy to make Threads a creator-focused platform—even if it means driving traffic outside its own ecosystem.

Meta is also preparing to roll out a weekly recap feature, summarizing metrics such as: Number of posts shared

Total views

New followers

Post replies

Week-over-week performance comparison

These recaps will also include personalized tips aimed at helping creators improve engagement and grow their communities. By integrating these features natively, Threads not only boosts its value for creators but also challenges the relevance of third-party link management tools that have long been essential due to platform limitations.
